Her success is unprecedented. Since her debut with Maria
Magdalena seven years ago, Sandra, from the Saarland, has
become a hallmark of good popmusic. She is also known well
abroad - and for a German artist that is exceptional enough.
Her music is just as popular in the sunny South as the cooler
regions of the North. She has just as many Russian fans as
Japanese. She gets fan mail from Egypt as regularly as from
Peru or Mexico. In Sweden Sandra even managed to leave ABBA
and The Beatles behind her. Sandra's story is a story of gold and platinum successes. Her singles have become hits by the dozen. Her Greatest Hits album, which has just come out, is a collection of all the songs that made Sandra's name and won her fans' hearts - from Maria Magdalena to Innocent Love to Secret Land, Hiroshima and Don't Be Aggressive from her latest album Close To Seven. Sandra's current single Johnny Wanna Live can also be found on the album. Sandra lives and works on Ibiza together with her husband Michael Cretu, who himself ranks as one of Germany's most successful artists with his solo project "Enigma". Here they have found the tranquillity and peace of mind so vital for their work.
