News archive 2024

Screenshot from "Våre beste år" September 14, 2024: In a scene from the Norwegian TV series "Våre beste år" ("Our best years"), Michael Cretu's song Samurai (Did You Ever Dream) is used as background music. The scene is from the episode "Fleinsopp og dagbok" (season 1 episode 5, "Psilocybe mushroom and diary"), and the song plays as a boy in a karate uniform is out on his bike. The series is shown on NRK and set in the 1980s, and features songs of that period in the soundtrack. Samurai (Did You Ever Dream) was a hit in Norway so it's not too surprising to see it used.

August 29, 2024: The Enigma website is 30 years! On August 29, 1994 this website was announced to the Enigma mailing list, with work having been started in May that year. It was the first Enigma site on the web - the next one would appear one year later. It's also the longest-running Enigma website, with a news archive going back to 1994, covering the releases from Enigma's second album. The site has basically the same appearance today as it had when it started. The web site originally had the address http://www.hsr.no/~joarg/Enigma.html, then http://www.stud.his.no/~joarg/Enigma.html from November 1995 and finally the current http://www.five.no/enigma/ from February 1998.

The latest Enigma album to date is The Fall Of A Rebel Angel, released in November 2016. There hasn't been much Enigma activity in the last years, but in June Enigma Music FanClub reported that Michael Cretu is working on a new Enigma album, citing people close to Cretu.
